.300 AAC Ammunition

Also known as: 300 blackout, 300 AAC, .300 AAC Blackout, 300 AAC Blackout, .300 Blackout, 300blk

The 300 AAC Blackout is often called the 300 BLK or the 7.62x35mm. The Advanced Armament Corporation developed this cartridge in the US to use with the M4 Carbine. The ultimate goal was to create ballistics that would mirror the 7.62x39mm Soviet cartridge used in AR-15’s. US military needed a compact 30 caliber option that would work within the AR platform and still use existing magazines held in inventory without compromising the capacity. The 300 AAC was officially approved in early 2011 and in October of that year, SSG Daniel Horner used this round to win the USPSA Multi-Gun National Championship.
