5.45 x 39mm Ammunition

The 5.45x39mm is a rimless rifle cartridge released by the Soviet Union in 1974. It was designed to use in the AK-74 assault rifle and it eventually replaced the 7.62x39mm round for servicemen in combat. It is a lightweight and small sized cartridge that allowed soldier to carry more ammo at the same weight for longer lasting combat.
